What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Supervisor position at The Medical Team?
Directly supervises Site Supervisors and Home Health Aides (PCAs, MAs, CNAs, etc.) in an Independent Living Facility. Duties may include management functions, such as conducting performance reviews, disciplinary functions, conducting training, customer service and employee relations, in addition to supervisory duties. To oversee and ensure all activities in the provision of services of Agency client's are complete.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures resident services in assigned facilities are provided in accordance with task assignments and conforming to Agency policy.
- Periodically monitors service being provided onsite.
- Maintains contact with Site Supervisors to ensure appropriate services provided.
- Meets with client facility management to ensure client satisfaction.
- Reports any concerns, problems or issues to appropriate Agency staff.
- Supervises Agency personnel in assigned facilities.
- Responsible for basic job responsibility training of Attendants and Site Supervisors.
- Monitors Site Supervisor in performance of their duties.
- Ensures Site Supervisors' provide effective monitoring of Attendants in the performance of their duties.
- Arranges and conducts orientation to the facility and other relevant in-services.
- Counsels, disciplines personnel as required.
- Actively participates in professional growth and development.
- Assigns required training programs to Attendants and Site Supervisors.
- Participates in educational programs appropriate to functions.
- Fulfills additional performance responsibilities as assigned and as necessary.
Physical Requirements: Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/oral communication. Ability to deal effectively with stress.
Working Conditions: Works in office areas as well as in client homes and in assisted and independent living facilities. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Interacts with clients, family members, staff, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions/circumstances. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset clients, family members, staff, visitors, etc. under all conditions/circumstances. Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects. May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to HIV and hepatitis viruses. Communicates with the medical staff, nursing staff, and other supervisors. Maintains a liaison with clients, their families, support staff, etc. to assure that the clients' needs are continually met.
Qualifications: Must possess excellent time management skills, interpersonal skills and communication (both written and verbal). High School diploma and three (3) years appropriate experience. College graduate preferable. Data entry/computer literate.
