What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook (1 Year Experience) position at The Meadows?
The Meadows is a small 16 bed assisted living facility in Old Town, Maine that offers a comfortable, convenient and gracious assisted living environment and support services promoting maximum independence for its residents. Resident services include individual care planning, assistance with activities of daily living, nutritious meals, assistance in securing medical attention, provision for home health and other services, arranging social and leisure activities, and more.
We are seeking a Part Time Cook to join our dedicated staff. Hours will be Friday-Sunday 5:00 am – 1:00 pm.
The Part Time Cook prepares and serves healthy and nutritional meals to our residents and staff, rotates stock, cleans and sanitizes the kitchen area according to OSHA and DHHS licensing requirements and delivers approximately 18 noontime meals to Marsh Island Apartments located one mile from the facility.
The perfect candidate will:
- Have previous successful experience in quantity cooking.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
- Must have or be able to obtain ServSafe certification.
- Have a valid State of Maine driver’s license and a dependable, registered vehicle.
- Contribute to a positive work environment, interacting with staff, public and others in a positive, productive manner, using tact and discretion.
· Pass a background check and maintain a record that is free from criminal convictions for crimes against persons, including, without limitation, theft, abuse, neglect or sexual misconduct.
· Pass a State of Maine background check as required by DHHS.
