Job Description
Safe transportation of children from designated pick-up locations to The Master’s School on school day mornings only. Drive in the afternoons for Athletic events as needed. May include other opportunities to drive for field trips.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate our bus to transport passengers on scheduled routes or special events.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and proper maintenance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during driving operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting passengers warmly, assisting with boarding and alighting, and addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage logs, and passenger counts; report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and passengers using clear communication skills to ensure smooth operations.
- Keep vehicles clean and well-maintained to uphold safety standards and a positive rider experience.
Qualifications
- CT Class D valid driver’s license. “V” endorsement required, or willing to obtain such endorsement. (TMS will provide information and process for obtaining and pay for training)
- Proven experience in driving various vehicles such as school buses, shuttle vans, motor coaches, or limousine services; delivery driver experience is a plus.
- Able to submit and pass a background checks along with random drug tests
- Strong mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness.
- Excellent communication skills in English for interacting with passengers and team members effectively.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks confidently.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to handle diverse passenger needs professionally.
- Experience in driving under different conditions including city traffic, highways, or rural routes; shuttle driving experience is beneficial.
