Where You Come In
The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of Summit’s Rock Hill branch. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining facility infrastructure, fleet vehicles, and production equipment to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient operating environment. This role supports both reactive maintenance needs and proactive improvements that help keep operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
Production Equipment & Machinery
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment
- Support rebuilds, adjustments, and corrective repairs to minimize downtime
- Assist with preventive maintenance efforts to extend equipment life and improve reliability
Facility & Building Maintenance
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on building systems, including doors, locks, lighting, electrical fixtures, restrooms, and general facility infrastructure
- Address safety-related facility issues promptly to maintain a safe working environment
- Support small construction, repair, and improvement projects within the branch
Vehicle & Fleet Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on box trucks and company vehicles
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to lights, safety equipment, and minor mechanical components
- Support vehicle readiness and DOT compliance to ensure delivery operations run safely and efficiently
Material Handling & Operational Support
- Build, repair, and modify carts, racks, tables, fixtures, and other material-handling solutions
- Support workflow efficiency through custom builds and operational improvements
- Assist with equipment relocation, setup, and layout changes as needed
Maintenance Requests & Documentation
- Receive, prioritize, and respond to maintenance requests submitted through the branch maintenance request system
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and materials used
- Communicate repair status, delays, or escalation needs to branch leadership
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety procedures and comply with applicable codes, regulations, and OSHA requirements
- Identify and report safety hazards or compliance concerns
- Support corrective actions related to safety, equipment, or facility risk
General Responsibilities
- Order materials, parts, and supplies required for repairs and maintenance tasks
- Notify supervisor of recurring issues, equipment concerns, or potential operational risks
- Support emergency and high-priority maintenance needs as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support branch operations
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational, technical, or trade school training preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in vehicle maintenance, machine repair, building maintenance, or a related skilled trade
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to document work performed and communicate effectively with team members and leadership
- Comfortable working independently while supporting a team-based operation
Pay & Schedule
- Pay Type: Hourly
- Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Schedule: Full-time, on-site
- Monday–Friday
- 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
- Occasional overtime and/or weekend work based on operational needs
