WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will lead the accounting department providing leadership and guidance to the team. As an expert in our ERP, Pace, this role will be a key contributor to improving business operations throughout the company. This role also serves as a consultant for managers within the organization, helping them to adopt financial strategies that align with the goals of the organization. The Controller will work to establish best-in-class financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, minimum of 7 years of accounting experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Serve as the subject matter expert for the accounting module of the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Collaborate with other departments to improve and enhance the overall quality of ERP data.
- Lead the activities of the accounting department, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash & treasury management, and tax compliance.
- Coordinate month end close and financial statement preparation along with financial statement analysis compared to prior year and budget.
- Responsible for confidentiality of accruals related to incentive compensation, commission and other confidential programs.
- Maintain commission reporting requirements in Pace to generate commission reports and sales team reporting package.
- Lead paperless initiatives to improve processes and increase efficiencies within the company.
- Owner of the Avalara integration for sales & use tax compliance with all required entities.
- Responsible for Sales & Use tax returns and required reporting requirements.
- Drive the annual budgeting process.
- Coordinate activities of external auditors for annual review, tax compliance and other governmental reporting requirements.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, principles, and controls.
- Follow and comply with all safety, work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
