Position Summary

The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of an assigned neighborhood while providing exceptional nursing care to our residents. This role serves as the clinical leader for the shift by supervising nursing staff, coordinating resident care, communicating with physicians and families, and ensuring quality, compassionate care is delivered every day.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
• Lead and support CNAs and LPNs throughout the shift.
• Complete nursing assessments and monitor changes in resident condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapy, hospice, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in resident condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in care planning and quality improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and coach staff while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies.
• Create a positive, resident-centered environment that reflects The Maples' mission and values.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Passion for serving older adults with dignity, compassion, and respect
