Job Summary
The Map Room is seeking a dependable, friendly, and customer-focused American Food Service Worker to support daily food service operations and help provide a positive dining experience. This role involves assisting with food preparation, assembling and serving orders, helping customers, maintaining clean work areas, and supporting the restaurant team during daily service.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing and assembling food items according to established procedures.
- Help portion, plate, package, and present menu items accurately.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in a timely and courteous manner.
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Answer routine questions about menu items and available options.
- Check orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper presentation.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service team members to support efficient order preparation.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions and customer payments as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized food preparation areas, counters, dining spaces, and service stations.
- Restock ingredients, beverages, utensils, packaging, and other supplies.
- Clean food service equipment and utensils according to established procedures.
- Follow food handling, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Communicate customer requests, supply shortages, and service issues to supervisors.
- Help prepare service areas before opening and maintain them throughout each shift.
- Assist with closing duties, cleaning, and proper storage of supplies.
- Support coworkers during busy service periods.
- Perform other food service and restaurant support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous food service, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
