Position Summary
The Stockroom Receiving Clerk supports daily operations by receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing materials accurately and efficiently. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting production schedules through timely material handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and products against purchase orders and inspection procedures
- Approve or reject materials based on quality standards and documented inspection criteria
- Accurately receive materials into inventory systems and maintain inventory integrity
- Store, move, pick, and deliver materials to internal departments to support production and work orders
- Prepare and document non-conforming material and communicate quality issues as needed
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely, including handling large or heavy steel shipments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom and receiving area
- Support shipping activities or return materials to suppliers when required
- Adapt to changing priorities based on production and material needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or stockroom operations preferred
- Forklift experience or ability to obtain forklift certification required
- Ability to read inspection documents, drawings, and basic work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials of varying sizes and weights
