We’re seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Part-Time Fit and Fun Coordinator to lead engaging fitness activities that motivate our students. Available Position: Fit and Fun Coordinator (similar to a Physical Education/PE instructor), Part-Time, 20 hours per week, 9:30-1:30 M-F
Primary Responsibilities:
The Coordinator will help plan safe, fun and collaborative indoor and outdoor games and fitness activities for students in grades 5-8 during daily 30 minute sessions. The Coordinator will also help manage students during lunch and recess periods in order to create a safe, respectful and fun environment for all students in grades 3-8.
Essential Functions:
- Establish clear procedures and routines for a safe and orderly environment
- Plan, facilitate and monitor a variety of recreational games and activities
- Prepare and guide parent volunteers to assist with supervision
- Organize students to ensure smooth transitions to and from fit and fun/lunch/recess
- Communicate with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner
- Circulate throughout the fit and fun/lunch/recess areas to assist students and parents
- Assist with set up and clean up of fields, gym, and lunch areas
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administrators
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience planning and supervising students in recreational activities; experience teaching PE is a plus!
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish strong routines and implement clear procedures
- Ability to treat all students in a respectful and responsible manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all issues related to students
- Able to complete tasks independently and efficiently
- Experience with coaching youth athletics and first aid training considered an asset
