Job Summary
Lutes Property Services is actively recruiting for a part-time Accounting Specialist to join our team working 25 hours per week. The position will hold responsibility for providing financial, administrative and clerical support to ensure the company’s financial records are accurate and up to date.  Will assist with a wide range of accounting tasks including processing transactions, reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.  All transactions must include the GL code, class, and job name/customer name unless the cost is an overhead expense.
 
Duties, Accountabilities and Limits of Authority:
  • Enter customer invoices, vendor bills, receipts and payments into Quickbooks.
  • Process and reconcile vendor bills including vendor payments and customer billings.
  • Ensure timely payment of vendor bills by processing accounts payable checks and electronic transfers. 
  • Monitor accounts receivable, track overdue payments and follow up with clients.
  • Enter transactions from bank feed and match existing transactions.
  • Assist with filing, sorting mail, answering phones, and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures and accounting regulations. 
  • Understand and adhere to Lutes Property Services’ core values at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.  Degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable
  • Proficiency and experience with Quickbooks accounting software a must
  • Knowledge and experience with job costs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google
  • Strong numerical skills and accuracy in data entry
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills 
  • Capable of making most decisions and completing most tasks without consulting a supervisor

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a manner that others will understand
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception 
  • Indoor working conditions in climate controlled environment 
Compensation: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
