We are seeking a dynamic Catering Sales Manager. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
- Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
- Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
- Assess Industry and competitor trends (pricing, packaging and services) on a consistent basis and provide feedback to Hotel Leadership
- Work closely with Culinary and Service Team to ensure flawless execution of events
- Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
- Prepare accurate written correspondence including letters, reports, event orders, diagrams, schedule of events, printed menus, resumes, and e-mails using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Delphi, Opera, and E Mail
- Communicate all details of assigned groups & conventions to all departments in a professional, thorough and timely manner by using Resumes, Event Orders, Diagrams and internal correspondence effectively
- Work closely with the client and hotel departments throughout the duration of assigned groups/conventions/programs by being available to assist the client and provide information to hotel departments at the appropriate times
- Achieve and exceed budgeted revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Analyze and estimate total value of each piece of business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service
- Utilize the marketing plan to uncover new and potential business
- Cultivate existing accounts into repeat business and revenue streams
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Target List of potential new accounts for the entire sales team; use creativity and innovation to find ideal customers that fit the hotel’s unique culture
- Develop new accounts with active prospecting, market networking, and targeted Sales Calls to accounts most probable to book LINE ATX
- Develop powerful customer relationship with appropriately frequent and reliable communication; Follow up on all Sales leads in timely, courteous and professional manner
- Ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues with most updated information
- In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may also be required to professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events, participate as a team player with all departments, provide constructive feedback to all departments, and be a leader and a role model to all employees
- Maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files
- Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
- Attend relevant meetings
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Wedding and/or social sales experience required
- Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular), Delphi, and access database tools
