Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of forklifts and heavy equipment. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely and reliably, supporting our commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on forklifts, including electrical diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, transmissions, diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, and air brake systems.
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work to repair or modify equipment as needed.
- Utilize schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
- Service various types of industrial equipment such as excavators, cranes, tractors, and construction machinery.
- Test equipment operation post-repair to ensure safety standards are met; perform heavy lifting and tire services when necessary.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with team members to coordinate repairs.
Experience
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or forklift technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong background in construction equipment servicing, automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and welding.
- Familiarity with schematics, power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic software for troubleshooting complex machinery.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, HVAC systems related to industrial equipment, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently; experience with tire service is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
