Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of forklifts and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational and our customers satisfied by delivering top-tier service and technical support.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on forklifts, including electrical diagnostics, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and diesel engines
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work as needed to repair or modify equipment
- Troubleshoot complex equipment problems involving air brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and electrical systems
- Service various heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, construction machinery, farm equipment, and industrial equipment
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and tire services to ensure safe operation of all equipment
Experience
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or forklift technician with dealership or industrial background
- Strong mechanical knowledge across construction machinery maintenance and automotive diagnostics
- Familiarity with OEM standards and schematics for Caterpillar, Diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with welding, soldering, HVAC systems, tire service, and electrical diagnostics
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes or tractor-trailers is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on equipment troubleshooting and repair efficiency
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
