About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the company’s accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate cash reporting, and effective account reconciliation. Your expertise in financial software and accounting principles will support our commitment to financial accuracy and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Process customer invoices and payments using various accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, and other financial software.
- Reconcile customer accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of transactions, adjustments, and collections in compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
- Communicate professionally with customers via phone and email to negotiate payment arrangements and resolve billing issues.
- Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries related to receivables and analyzing account data using Excel formulas and data analysis techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounts receivable.
Required Skills
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX compliance standards.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel data analysis and formulas.
- Excellent attention to detail for account reconciliation and data entry accuracy.
- Effective negotiation skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for customer interactions.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
