Role Description
This part-time, on-site Event Director role is located in Farmington, UT. The Event Director will oversee the planning and execution of events, ensuring they align with The Lights Festival's mission and vision. Responsibilities include event planning and management, coordination of logistics, overseeing budgets, and supervising event staff. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with vendors, ensuring smooth day-of-event operations, and promoting the event to drive sales and attendance.
Qualifications
- This is a part-time job, it will require travel and will be busier at the start as you are getting trained, but then once the season starts, it will most likely leave once a month, from Wednesday or Thursday to Sunday.
- You will be coordinating the event, leading the team, and putting up and taking down the festival.
- Talking to the venue and coordinating the Lights Team home base, and talking with the fire department
- Event experience is very much looked at, but not needed; however, we would like you to have some event experience.
- Pay will be discussed at the interview
- Need to be comfortable in learning how to drive forklifts, box trucks, and other equipment to be able to set up and take down the festival.
- Manager experience in events or leading a team is highly looked at.
- Lead planning and execution of all festival events from setup to breakdown.
- Manage on-site logistics: staff assignments, vendors, displays, lighting, music, and guest experience.
- Hire, train, and supervise office and field teams; assign tasks and monitor performance.
- Oversee budgets, track expenses, and manage vendor contracts.
- Coordinate with performers, emcees, and technical teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and local regulations.
- Identify operational improvements and implement process efficiencies.
- Handle guest, vendor, or staff concerns professionally and proactively.
- Proven experience managing large-scale events, festivals, or experiential productions.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Budget management and financial oversight experience.
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and travel.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
- Experience with multi-city or ticketed events.
