What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Crew Member position at The Lighting Company?
Seasonal Crew Member
The Lighting Company | Niceville, Florida
Competitive Hourly Pay, Based on Experience | Seasonal: September–January | Performance Bonuses | Advancement Opportunities
Since 2003, The Lighting Company has designed, installed, and maintained award-winning outdoor lighting and holiday décor throughout the Gulf Coast and Southeast. We proudly serve municipalities, commercial properties, resorts, and luxury residences that expect exceptional quality—and we hold ourselves to that same standard.
We’re seeking Seasonal Crew Members who are dependable, hard-working, and ready to learn a trade. This is a hands-on outdoor role installing holiday lighting and décor for municipalities, resorts, commercial properties, and luxury homes throughout the Gulf Coast.
This position exists to get quality work installed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
Crew Members work under the direction of a Crew Leader and report to the General Manager. No prior lighting experience is required—we will train you. What we cannot train is showing up on time and working hard.
Primary Responsibilities
Installation Work
· Install holiday lighting and décor on roofs, trees, landscaping, and structures
· Climb and work safely from extension ladders and aerial lifts
· Assemble, place, and secure lighting displays and decorative elements
· Run and connect electrical cords, timers, and controllers
· Perform seasonal takedown, removal, and storage of displays
· Follow the Crew Leader’s direction on job plans and installation technique
Daily Operations
· Arrive on time and ready to work at the scheduled start time
· Load and unload trucks and trailers at the start and end of each day
· Keep vehicles, tools, and job sites clean and organized
· Account for tools and materials and return them to their proper place
· Leave every job site cleaner than you found it
Professionalism & Safety
· Follow all safety procedures, including ladder, lift, and electrical safety
· Represent the company professionally on client property and in public
· Maintain a professional appearance and respectful conduct at all times
· Communicate issues and safety concerns to your Crew Leader immediately
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
· Shows up on time, every day, without exception
· Is reliable and follows through on commitments
· Works hard without needing to be watched
· Is comfortable working at heights and physically capable of demanding work
· Is mechanically inclined and good with their hands
· Takes direction well and learns quickly
· Works well as part of a team
· Takes pride in doing a job correctly the first time
Prior experience in construction, landscaping, roofing, electrical, warehouse, or general labor is helpful but not required. Reliability and work ethic matter more to us than experience. If you show up, work hard, and learn the trade, there is real opportunity here.
Physical Requirements
This is physically demanding outdoor work. You must be able to:
· Lift, carry, and move up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
· Climb extension ladders and work at significant heights
· Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
· Work on roofs and uneven terrain
· Work outdoors for full shifts in rain, wind, and cold temperatures
Who Thrives Here
You’ll likely enjoy this role if you:
· Prefer working outside and staying active over sitting at a desk
· Like seeing a finished result at the end of the day
· Want to learn a skilled trade and grow into more responsibility
· Value being part of a team that holds each other accountable
· Take pride in work that reflects well on you and the company

Work is performed outdoors in all conditions, including rain, wind, and cold weather. Installations proceed in adverse weather except when conditions are unsafe.
Compensation
· Competitive hourly pay based on experience and physical capability
