Position Summary:
The Corporate Paralegal serves as a vital liaison between various departments and the legal team, addressing a wide range of legal issues such as the release of information, response to subpoenas, and general legal inquiries. This role provides comprehensive support for licensing and corporate filings, including the preparation of materials and maintenance of related records.
Key responsibilities include effective communication with third parties regarding subpoenas and information requests, as well as providing litigation support as needed. The Paralegal conducts legal research in response to inquiries from attorneys and business partners, delivering thorough verbal and written summaries of findings. Additionally, the role involves assisting attorneys with corporate transactions, initiatives, investigations, and other legal matters.
The Corporate Paralegal acts as the administrator for the legal department’s matter management system and must remain flexible to support other areas within the department as necessary. Additional duties may be assigned by management to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as liaison to various departments concerning legal issues, including but not limited to release of information, response to subpoenas, and other general legal inquiries.
- Assists with license and corporate filing support, preparation of materials and related data or record maintenance.
- Communicates as appropriate, with third parties concerning subpoenas and other requests for information.
- Provides litigation support.
- Performs legal research in response to inquiries from attorneys and other business partners. Provides verbal and/or written summaries of research results.
- Assists attorneys as directed, in corporate transactions and initiatives, investigations and filings, and other legal matters.
- Act as administrator for the legal department’s matter management system
- Remain adequately flexible to assist other areas of the department on an as-needed basis; additional duties may be assignment by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5years of corporate paralegal experience or similar experience in a sophisticated legal practice; In-house experience preferred, but not required.
- Insurance or regulated institution experience preferred.
- Eagerness to learn and support a busy department with diverse areas of practice.
- Maintain high sense of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively and professionally present information to management.
- Ability to analyze complex data, from multiple sources, in detail.
- Strong organizational, time-management and analytical skills.
- Identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
- Ability to analyze risk across a broad spectrum of subject matters.
- Strong problem solving, reasoning and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills on multiple platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software, and Internet software.
- Superior technical legal abilities, including verbal, legal research, writing and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of principles and practices of risk management preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external constituencies
- Ability to manage multiple projects and task simultaneously and assist in large, cross functional projects
- Must be resourceful and detail oriented, and able to assimilate and analyze a wide variety of information
- Technology Skills: Westlaw, MS PowerPoint, Excel

Salary : $105,000 - $120,000
