Duties
- Supervise and engage children during play, learning activities, meals, and rest periods to ensure their safety and well-being
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote developmental milestones in areas such as social skills, language, motor skills, and emotional regulation
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children’s progress, behaviors, and any concerns
- Follow all safety protocols including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures to respond effectively in emergencies
- Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing individualized care in accordance with their plans
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and consistent routines
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in child care, preschool, or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) is required; pediatric first aid certification is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies
