The Learning Experience – Lake Linganore is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Center Director to help launch our newest early childhood education center. This is a unique opportunity to build a school from the ground up, mentor a brand-new team of educators, and help create a culture where children, families, and teachers thrive.
Working alongside the Center Director, you'll play a key role in daily operations, teacher development, enrollment growth, licensing compliance, and creating an exceptional experience for every family who walks through our doors.
What You'll Do
Partner with the Center Director to oversee the daily operations of the center- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing teaching team
- Conduct classroom observations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development
- Ensure compliance with all Maryland Office of Child Care (OCC) regulations and company policies
- Support curriculum implementation and classroom quality throughout the center
- Lead tours for prospective families and help drive enrollment growth
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, licensing documentation, and center administration
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service
- Step into classrooms when needed to support children and teachers
Qualifications
- Must meet Maryland Office of Child Care qualifications for an Assistant Director (Senior Staff Member) in a licensed childcare center
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred - Coursework in Early Childhood Education and child development preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
Strong knowledge of Maryland childcare licensing regulations - Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Passion for mentoring teachers and delivering exceptional early childhood education
