What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Center Assistant Director/Administrator position at Mom's Tiny Treasures Early Learning Center?
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Represents the center positively, interacting effectively with children, families, staff, regulatory agencies,
and community partners.
2. Maintains full compliance with MSDE Office of Child Care regulations, including staffing requirements,
ratios, supervision, recordkeeping, and facility standards.
3. Provides leadership and supervision to all staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching,
and performance evaluations.
4. Oversee daily center operations to maintain a safe, clean, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate
learning environment.
5. Ensure curriculum implementation meets Maryland Early Learning Standards and supports children’s
developmental growth across all domains.
6. Conducts regular classroom observations to support consistent, high-quality teaching practices.
7. Maintains accurate documentation including children’s records, staff credentials, emergency forms, health
documents, attendance, and regulatory files.
8. Manages family communication, providing timely updates, resolving concerns, and fostering strong,
positive relationships with parents.
9. Ensures proper supervision of children at all times and supports staff in implementing positive child
guidance practices.
10. Plans and facilitate staff meetings, professional development sessions, and ongoing mandatory training
requirements.
11. Oversee enrollment, admissions processes, tours, waitlist management, and family onboarding.
12. Implements and monitors center wide safety protocols, emergency preparedness plans, incident/accident
reporting, and facility maintenance.
13. Manages budgets, tuition processes, supply purchasing, and resource allocation in collaboration with the
administrative team.
14. Ensures the center’s mission, values, and customer service standards are upheld consistently throughout
all programs.
15. Participates in professional development, virtual meetings, and ongoing training as required by licensing
and program expectations.
16. Develop, maintain, and oversee all reports, work orders, and program calendars to ensure accuracy,
timeliness, and smooth workflow across all departments.
17. Create and maintain an inviting, welcoming environment in entryways, including thoughtfully designed
bulletin boards, displays, and seasonal or thematic decorations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must meet MSDE OCC Director qualifications for the age groups served:
Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field plus required experience.
Option 2: 90-hour Certificate in Early Childhood Education plus required college coursework and experience.
Option 3: Administrative training and required years of teaching/supervisory experience in licensed childcare.
2. Strong knowledge of child development, Maryland licensing regulations, and early childhood best practices.
3. Minimum of 2 years of successful teaching experience in early childhood education and 1 year of administrative/supervisory experience (as required by OCC).
Employment Requirements
1. Successful completion of state-required criminal background check and fingerprinting.
2.Valid CPR/First Aid certification, current TB test, and up-to-date health and safety training per COMAR
regulations.
3. Completion of all mandatory MSDE OCC training, including:
- Basic Health & Safety
- Emergency Preparedness
- Child Abuse & Neglect
- ADA Compliance
- Maryland Child Care Credential training (if applicable)
4. Ability to manage staff, maintain professionalism, multitask, and communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.

Pay: $41,600.00 - $56,000.00 per year
