What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Teacher position at The Learning Center - Longview, TX?
The Learning Center is a Christian-based daycare that offers children opportunities to play, learn, and grow while learning to socially engage and develop fundamental skills and knowledge. TLC is dedicated to helping children discover their individuality and encourage self-expression.
We are looking for a teacher to assist with the growth and development of children in one of our daycare classrooms 7:30 AM - 1 PM. Pay rate is contingent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and follow a schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material
- Provide basic caregiving activities
- Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, hands-on activities, indoor/outdoor games, drawing, etc) to enhance the child’s abilities
- Evaluate children’s performance to make sure they are on the right learning track
- Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
- Collaborate with other colleagues
- Adhere to standards and safety regulations as established by The Learning Center
Required Skills
- Must be willing to become CPR certified, if not already
- Must pass background check
- Patience, flexibility, and love for children
- Strong communication and time management skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility preferred
Pay: From $10.00 per hour
