The Legal Personal Assistant will support a small Estate Planning, Trusts and Estates Law Firm, working closely with 1-2 attorneys. This role involves managing a wide range of administrative, personal and legal support tasks to ensure smooth office operations and effective client service. The assistant will need to facilitate the attorneys' day to day operations with ease and with understanding for how to make their lives run smoothly so that their focus can be on their workload and the needs of the clients they serve. The assistant will handle confidential matters with discretion and assist with both legal and personal administrative errands, occasionally requiring local travel. The assistant must be familiar with documenting legal tasks and keeping up with billable time on a daily basis. We have an office Labrador named Maple, so the assistant must love dogs!
Responsibilities
- Manage attorney calendars and coordinate meetings
- Prepare legal documents and correspondence
- Communicate with clients and manage client expectations
- Assist with legal research and file management
- Coordinate travel arrangements and billing support
- Handle phone triage and correspondence
- Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
- Perform personal and legal administrative errands as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in legal assistance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or related field
- Knowledge of legal terminology and document management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Demonstrated confidentiality and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail
- Experience drafting correspondence and managing client expectations
