Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Real Estate Paralegal role based in Florence, SC. The Real Estate Paralegal will support attorneys with preparation, review, and organization of closing documents for residential and commercial transactions. Daily responsibilities include drafting and revising legal documents, coordinating with lenders, title companies, real estate agents, and clients, and maintaining accurate transaction files. The role also involves conducting due diligence, assisting with title review and curative work, scheduling and preparing for closings, and ensuring that all documents are properly executed and recorded. The Real Estate Paralegal will manage deadlines, track transaction milestones, and use case management or closing software to keep matters organized and on schedule.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with legal document preparation for real estate matters, including closing documents, leases, and related agreements.
- Proficiency in conducting due diligence for real estate transactions, such as reviewing public records, identifying issues, and assisting with resolution.
- Knowledge of title insurance processes, including title commitments, policies, and coordination with title companies.
- Familiarity with commercial real estate transactions and documentation, including lease review and assisting with complex deal structures.
- Previous experience as a real estate paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm, title company, or related environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with common office software and, ideally, real estate or closing software platforms.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a client-focused, professional demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff in an on-site setting in Florence, SC.
- Paralegal certificate or relevant education and training preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
