General Job Description:
The Debt Settlement Specialist works with the attorneys and the negotiations team to help clients resolve their debts. This role serves as a liaison between the law firm and its vendors and ensures timely and accurate communication throughout the negotiations process.
Role in Mission:
To help clients successfully resolve their debts by ensuring negotiated settlements are accurately calculated, efficiently implemented, and clearly communicated. This role serves as the operational bridge between the firm, its vendors, and attorneys, helping deliver a smooth and reliable settlement experience for every client.
Through attention to detail, teamwork, and proactive follow-up, this role helps protect the integrity of our processes and contributes to the overall success of the firm and the clients we serve.
Reports directly to the Negotiations Supervisor
Key Specific Duties:

- Support attorneys and litigation staff throughout the negotiations process
- Calculate settlement payment structures using vendor-specific methodologies
- Verify settlement calculations for accuracy prior to presentation or implementation
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve calculation discrepancies, funding issues, or payment plan questions
- Maintain detailed record of negotiations, calculations, and communications.
- Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding settlements
- Continuously identify opportunities to improvement settlement workflows, calculation accuracy, and communication processes
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple negotiations and competing headlines
