What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's Project Coordinator position at The Laurel Center?
Job purpose
1. Provide Guidance and leadership to the Children’s project staff as needed.
2. Coordinate, manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Children’s Project
3. Provide crisis intervention and direct services to hotline callers, Children’s Project clients and others as needed.
4. Assist with community education and outreach as needed.
5. Review, evaluate and make program adjustments as part of continuous quality improvement of the Children’s Program
Duties and responsibilities
Coordination and Administration:
1. Provide oversight, training, guidance, and leadership to project staff.
2. Establish internal protocols for client services reporting.
3. Complete an annual review of each Children’s Project staff member.
4. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Children’s Project and its staff.
5. Work with Executive Director to develop annual goals for the Children’s Project
6. Assist Executive Director with the development and maintenance of Project grant.
7. Complete all quarterly, semi-annual, and annual program reporting as required by the grantor.
8. Maintain accurate and complete records on the Children’s Project
Client Services:
1. As needed, provide direct services to Children’s Project clients which may include initial intake and needs assessment, information and referral, crisis intervention, and emotional support/advocacy services
2. Provide crisis intervention and/r technical assistance to child survivors of DV and their non-offending caregivers at the Child Safe Center
3. Work closely with all services systems and act as an advocate for the client as needed.
4. Work closely with other Laurel Center Program Coordinators and administration to assure a consistent flow of communication and delivery of services.
5. Assist with hotline duties and on-call duties as scheduled or needed.
6. Attend or coordinate participation in the local MDTs and Council against DV & SA
7. Maintain accurate and complete records and statistics on all clients and services provided.
Community Education and Outreach:
1. Foster community relations and promote the visibility of the program through participation with other community-based services organizations and projects.
2. Develop materials to provide public awareness of the Children’s Project
3. Speak before groups to promote interest and support for the program.
4. Work closely with other agencies to maintain a flow of communication and client services.
Other Duties:
1. Maintain accurate and complete records and statistics on all clients and services provided, including VADATA entry.
2. Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to The Laurel Center clients served.
3. Compile monthly, quarterly, and semiannual reports as assigned.
4. Attend staff meetings and consultation meetings.
5. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications
Completion of master’s degree program in a social services field preferred or bachelor’s degree and 10 years’ experience in Program coordination and grant administration in a Human services position or an acceptable combination of experience and education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of domestic violence and its impact on the survivor and family. Knowledge of community service agencies and willingness to become part of service planning and delivery. Ability to supervise and train staff. Demonstrate ability to work independently.
