Position Summary
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the beauty, cleanliness, and overall presentation of The Larimore's six-acre historic estate. As one of the first things couples and guests experience, the grounds must consistently reflect the elegance and high standards of our venue.
This position requires someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong eye for detail, enjoys working outdoors, and understands that every wedding day is a showcase of the property.

Essential Responsibilities
Landscape Maintenance
- Mow, edge, trim, and maintain all lawns throughout the property.
- Prune shrubs, bushes, trees, and ornamental plants.
- Plant seasonal flowers and maintain flower beds.
- Weed, mulch, fertilize, and water landscaping as needed.
- Monitor plant health and identify pests or diseases.
Property Appearance
- Ensure all outdoor areas remain clean, polished, and guest-ready.
- Remove leaves, sticks, litter, and debris daily.
- Maintain walkways, patios, parking areas, and entrances.
- Pressure wash sidewalks, patios, and hardscape as needed.
- Keep outdoor furniture clean and in excellent condition.
Wedding & Event Readiness
- Prepare the grounds before every event.
- Conduct property walks before weddings to ensure every area is presentation-ready.
- Assist with outdoor ceremony setup when requested.
- Quickly address weather-related issues before or during events.
- Maintain ceremony lawns and gardens to exceptional standards.
Equipment Maintenance
- Operate and maintain lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other landscaping equipment safely.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Report equipment repairs or replacement needs promptly.
Seasonal Responsibilities
- Snow removal and ice treatment during winter months.
- Leaf removal throughout fall.
- Spring landscape clean-up and preparation.
- Holiday and seasonal décor installation and removal as directed.
General Property Maintenance
- Assist with minor exterior repairs.
- Report maintenance concerns affecting guest safety or property appearance.
- Help maintain fences, gates, lighting, irrigation systems, and drainage areas.
- Support the facilities team with additional outdoor projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred.
- Experience operating landscaping equipment safely.
- Basic knowledge of plants, irrigation, and lawn care.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
