Role Description The Clinical Outreach Specialist serves as a key representative of The Lakes Behavioral Health within the Lakeland community, developing and strengthening relationships with healthcare providers, behavioral health professionals, hospitals, therapists, community organizations, and other referral partners. This full-time hybrid position combines field-based outreach with remote responsibilities and plays an essential role in expanding access to high-quality mental health and substance use treatment.
The specialist is responsible for cultivating new referral relationships while maintaining existing partnerships through regular face-to-face visits, educational presentations, networking events, and ongoing communication. Working closely with the Admissions, Clinical, and Marketing teams, the Clinical Outreach Specialist helps ensure a seamless referral experience by providing accurate program information, facilitating timely communication, and supporting individuals, families, and professionals throughout the referral process.
Beyond relationship development, this role serves as a valuable source of market intelligence by identifying community needs, monitoring referral trends, evaluating competitive landscapes, and uncovering opportunities for strategic growth. Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including active listening and clear, professional verbal and written interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to provide empathetic, responsive support to prospective clients, families, and referral partners.
- Candidates should possess Community Outreach skills to build partnerships, represent the organization at events, and promote services effectively.
- Candidates should possess Research and Writing skills to develop outreach materials, gather market information, and document activities and outcomes.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in behavioral health or healthcare outreach, familiarity with PHP/IOP levels of care, and knowledge of local community resources.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, comfort with hybrid work and basic office software/CRM tools, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams are preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, is strongly beneficial, but not mandatory for this role.
