Math Tutor / Academic Coach — The Ladder Method (Brooklyn)
Teach differently. Make a lasting impact.
At The Ladder Method, we believe the best educators do more than teach math—they teach students how to think, how to problem-solve, and how to become confident, independent learners.
Since 2019, we've partnered with families throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, and New York City, providing highly personalized academic coaching to students attending many of the city's leading independent, private, and public schools.
Our clients choose The Ladder Method because they value relationships as much as results. We do too.
We're looking for experienced Brooklyn based educators who love the moment when a student finally says, "I get it." If you're the kind of teacher who celebrates growth just as much as grades, you'll fit right in.
Why educators love working here
Unlike large tutoring companies, our coaches become trusted partners to students and families. You'll have the opportunity to build lasting relationships, work with motivated students, and be part of a collaborative team that values your expertise.
We believe our educators deserve the same level of care we provide our clients. That means thoughtful support, professional respect, flexibility, and a company culture built on collaboration rather than quotas.
What You'll Do
Work one-on-one with students in their homes, providing personalized instruction while building meaningful relationships with students and families. Our Academic Coaches and Study Skills Coaches are trusted advisors who inspire confidence, accountability, and academic excellence.
We are seeking educators who can teach multiple math subjects, including:
Basic Elementary math
Algebra I
Geometry
Algebra II
Trigonometry
Pre-Calculus
Calculus AB/BC
Calculus 3
Where: In-person, Brooklyn and surrounding areas
Our Ideal Candidate
Compensation is competitive and based on experience — advanced degrees and specialized experience land at the top of the range. This role is for in-person tutoring only.
If you're the kind of tutor who remembers a kid's favorite subject isn't math, it's feeling smart — we'd love to talk.
As our company continues to grow throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan and the greater New York City area, we are seeking experienced educators from Brooklyn only to join our elite team of Academic Coaches.
