This full-time position, under the supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for developing employment opportunities and providing on-going employment counseling for a residential offender population.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (PERFORMS OTHER WORK-RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY IMMEADIATE SUPERVISOR) Developing and maintaining a bank of employment opportunity for an offender populationAssisting employers in establishing recruiting standards, which will benefit the hard-to-place skilled disadvantaged applicantHelping residents develop job-search, job application and interviewing skillsEmpowering residents with pertinent information regarding federal, state and local employment lawsProviding follow-up counseling for residents to ensure effective work ethicsFacilitating one-on-one and group personal development sessionsPreparing and providing accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company and contract guidelinesParticipating in mandated training and staff development activitiesPerforming other job-related duties as may be required by the Program Director.QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL REQUIREMENTSTwo years of experience in duties relating to locating jobs for the general public or a specific population and one year of experience in job search and retention methods.KNOWLEDGE: Federal, State and local employment lawsEmployment opportunities convenient and conducive to the population servedEmployment principles and acceptable work ethicsAvailable support services, including tools & opportunities for assessment and skill developmentABILITIES: Plan, organize & control resources to meet the responsibilities and duties of this positionPrepare and issue accurate, complete, and timely reports in accordance with company and contract guidelinesCommunicate effectively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization & the employment communityMaintain clearance through contracting agencyEDUCATION REQUIREMENTSThis position requires a Bachelor degree in the Social Sciences
