Position Overview
The KINN is seeking a highly motivated Events & Media Technology Coordinator to support our dynamic calendar of workshops, panels, founder showcases, live recordings, and creative productions across our venues—including KYO, the Clubhouse, and our podcast studio.
This hybrid role blends event operations, AV production, podcast studio support, and media management, offering real, hands-on experience in a fast-growing hub for conscious entrepreneurship, technology, and creativity in Venice, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Event Operations
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including staging, seating layouts, decor, lighting, and AV placement.
- Support event coordination—managing guest lists, directing attendees, and assisting facilitators and speakers.
- Help maintain venue readiness and ensure rooms are clean, organized, and properly reset.
A/V Technology & Production Support
- Set up and operate audio systems, projectors, stage lighting, microphones, speakers, and cameras for events.
- Troubleshoot common AV issues (feedback, cable connections, sound levels, HDMI, switching inputs).
- Assist with multi-camera recording, live switching, and capturing content for post-production.
- Ensure high-quality audio for panels, interviews, and presentations using mixers or the RØDECaster Pro II.
Podcast Studio Support
- Support creators using the KINN Podcast Studio—helping them set up mics, headphones, and recording sessions.
- Monitor sound levels and ensure clean, consistent audio capture.
- Save, label, and organize session files for editing and archive.
- Maintain studio cleanliness, cable management, and equipment readiness.
Media & Content Management
- Download, back up, and organize video and audio files from events and studio sessions.
- Prepare assets for editors by properly labeling, transferring, and packaging files.
- Capture behind-the-scenes content when possible (optional if aligned with comfort level).
- Support simple content tasks such as trimming clips, exporting files, or uploading content.
General Venue Support
- Uphold a polished, professional environment across all KINN spaces.
- Assist with occasional food service, bar support, or hospitality tasks as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and proper equipment handling procedures.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Attitude: Demonstrates a positive and proactive approach to tasks.
- Communication Skills: Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility: Capable of working a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
- Attention to Detail: Displays exceptional attention to detail and adeptness at multitasking.
- Pressure Handling: Demonstrates the ability to work effectively under pressure and maintains professionalism in challenging situations.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of basic audio/visual equipment is preferred, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues is considered a valuable bonus.
