Responsibilities
Diagnostic Imaging & Patient Care
- Perform general diagnostic radiographic procedures following departmental protocols.
- Produce high‑quality images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Apply proper positioning, technical factors, and equipment settings for optimal results.
- Maintain continuous patient observation and uphold Family Centered Care principles.
- Assist with additional diagnostic imaging procedures as needed.
- Follow all federal, state, and hospital radiation safety regulations, including ALARA.
- Monitor and document Dose Area Product (DAP) as required.
- Wear dosimeter badges and comply with radiation monitoring policies.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and proper documentation for all exams.
- Process, transfer, archive, and maintain imaging studies and related records.
- Maintain accurate exam documentation in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and HIPAA standards.
- Protect the integrity and security of the Radiology Information System (RIS) and hospital systems.
- Train and orient radiology students and new staff members.
- Participate in in‑services, staff development, and continuing education activities.
- Maintain ARRT certification, including 12 CE credits annually (minimum 6 from CHOP Radiology).
- Complete all required hospital and departmental annual training and competencies.
- Demonstrate professional conduct and contribute positively to the department environment.
- Communicate unresolved operational, staffing, workflow, or patient care issues to the Diagnostic Team Leader.
- Support departmental goals related to quality, safety, patient care, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in holiday call coverage as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum of 3 years of radiology experience.
- Current ARRT certification (RT).
- Current CPR certification with hands‑on skills verification.
- Working knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures, radiographic equipment, and radiology workflows.
- Proficiency with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and related healthcare technology.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Pediatric radiology experience.
- Cross‑training or advanced experience in multiple diagnostic imaging modalities.
