Blow Molding Process Technical Supervisor

Job Summary
We're looking for a hands-on Process Engineer with experience in accumulator-head blow molding of large plastic parts. In this role, you'll be responsible for optimizing production processes, improving cycle times and product quality, and supporting the introduction of new products in a high-volume, industrial manufacturing environment. You will also work closely with other departments to develop a cohesive production flow, under the direction of the Plant Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and analyze process control data, documents, and reports.
- Consult with all shift supervisors to ensure consistent machine and part performance.
- Supervise and lead all mold setup and product processing operations to ensure 100% compliance with quality and efficiency standards.
- Develop, optimize, and document blow molding process parameters for large-part accumulator-head machines.
- Troubleshoot molding defects such as flash, warp, poor part weight distribution, or poor surface finish.
- Monitor and adjust process settings to maintain quality and reduce scrap, downtime, and cycle time.
- Collaborate with tooling, maintenance, and quality teams on process improvements, tooling trials, and machine upgrades.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to part quality or machine reliability.
- Assist with new mold sampling and validation; lead the development of process sheets and standard work instructions.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- Monitor performance metrics (OEE, scrap, cycle time, yield) and implement improvements accordingly.
- Train operators and technicians on proper machine setup and troubleshooting practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of experience in large-part blow molding.
- A degree in manufacturing is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments will be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of part design, part function, and quality control systems.
- Maco 8000 experience is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer and report writing skills.
- Self-initiative and excellent time-management skills.
Salary Range: $100k-$130k annually
Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
