Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Columbia, MD (On-Site)

Job Duration: (3 months with possibilities of Contract to Hire)

Shift: 3rd Shift – 8-hour shift starting between 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Job Description

We are hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support in-pharmacy floor operations on a third-shift schedule. This role focuses on preparing prescriptions for final pharmacist verification while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick, label, scan, and prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
• Pull medications from shelving and prepack racks
• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy
• Assist with prepacking frequently ordered medications during low-volume periods
• Process returned drugs and recycle or dispose of items per procedure
• Maintain workstation cleanliness and replenish supplies
• Alert pharmacist of any scanning or product issues
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
• Support overtime, weekend, and holiday coverage as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work at a moderate speed
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Clear and active Maryland Pharmacy Technician License
  
  

Preferred

• Previous pharmacy technician experience (retail or long-term care preferred)
  
  

Work & Schedule Details

• Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Overtime not required but may be needed occasionally
• In-person interview (single round) conducted at the pharmacy
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (7–10 hours)
• Frequent bending, stooping, walking, and manual dexterity
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
• Visual acuity for close and color vision; ability to hear normal voice sounds
