The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in commercial real estate (CRE), commercial and industrial (C&I) lending, loan restructures, recoveries, and special assets management. Candidates with substantial experience in Credit Administration will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of criticized, classified, and non-performing CRE and C&I loans.
- Develop and implement workout strategies, including restructures, repayment plans, settlements, collateral liquidation, and exit strategies.
- Negotiate loan modifications, forbearance agreements, and settlements with borrowers, guarantors, and legal counsel.
- Coordinate foreclosure actions, bankruptcy proceedings, litigation, receiverships, and collateral disposition efforts.
- Analyze borrower financial statements, guarantor strength, cash flow, and collateral performance to determine appropriate risk ratings and action plans.
- Recommend risk grade changes consistent with internal policy and regulatory expectations.
- Prepare portfolio reporting for management, committees, auditors, and regulatory examiners.
- Support CECL reserve forecasting, impairment analysis, and charge-off recommendations.
- Partner with Business Lending, Credit Administration, Finance, Legal, and third-party vendors to identify and mitigate emerging credit risks.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to analysts and support staff while contributing to process improvements and best practices.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven or more years of experience in commercial lending, special assets, workout management, credit administration, or related functions.
- Experience managing criticized, classified, and non-performing commercial loan portfolios.
- Demonstrated success executing restructures, workouts, settlements, and collateral liquidation strategies.
- Experience working with legal counsel, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex commercial credit situations.
- Prior supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership of analysts, portfolio managers, or support staff.
- Knowledge of CECL, reserve methodologies, impairment analysis, and regulatory examination processes.
- Familiarity with foreclosure proceedings, bankruptcy claims, litigation support, and receivership actions.
