Job Title: Inventory Associate/Forklift Operator
Employment Type: Permanent Placement
Shift: B Shift – Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Location: Orlando, FL
Pay Rate: Up to $28/hour
Work Schedule: Approximately 50 hours/week (Overtime required)
New hires will train for two weeks on their assigned training shift before transitioning to their designated shift.
Job Summary
The Inventory Associate is responsible for supporting warehouse and fulfillment center operations, with a focus on inventory control, receiving, quality checks, and material movement. This role requires hands-on warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate forklift and other powered industrial equipment. Safety, accuracy, and quality are critical components of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying, escalating, and assisting in the resolution of workflow roadblocks that may cause downstream defects
- Participate in basic root cause analysis and problem‑solving activities
- Safely operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, electronic pallet jacks (EPJs), reach trucks, and turret trucks
- Receive inbound shipments and unload materials from delivery carriers
- Inspect incoming shipments to ensure contents meet quality and acceptance standards per SOPs
- Perform quality control checks based on part number requirements and documented procedures
- Accurately document receipts and close out work orders using inventory management systems
- Perform data entry by navigating inventory tools and inputting information directly from physical deliveries
- Package materials appropriately for storage or shipment, ensuring parts are protected throughout the workflow
- Sort, stage, and move materials to designated locations while preventing loss or damage
- Label and mark parts according to standard operating procedures to maintain traceability
- Assign storage locations and conduct inventory audits using good judgment and SOP guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of fulfillment center, warehouse, or inventory operations experience, including receiving and inventory functions
- Prior or current certified forklift experience (required)
- Ability and willingness to operate powered industrial equipment with training
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly
- Strong commitment to safety protocols, PPE usage, and safe operating procedures
- High attention to detail and dedication to world‑class quality
- Basic analytical and mathematical skills to identify issues, evaluate data, and support decision‑making
- Strong communication skills in a fast‑paced, technical environment
- Ability to derive inventory requirements from Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Proven ability to work collaboratively, earn trust, and contribute positively to a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Warehouse, receiving, or inventory experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing environments
