Primary Purpose
Join a leading global provider of independent expert services in energy efficiency. As a Business/Program Analyst, you will provide analytical support for utility-led energy efficiency incentive programs, collect and interpret program data, and contribute to strategic decisions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage program databases, and drive continuous improvement in program processes and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, compile, analyze, and interpret program and project-level data, including energy savings, incentives, and application status.
- Develop, run, and maintain reports, processes, graphs, and dashboards to track key performance metrics, forecast energy savings, and manage budgets and client invoices.
- Prepare and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders, clients, and management.
- Streamline, document, and automate program processes for increased efficiency.
- Perform analyses to identify operational insights and causes.
- Manage and perform quality control on reports and analyses, enforcing QAQC processes to maintain data accuracy.
- Support backend processes for cadence reporting to clients and finance/accounting teams.
- Collaborate with program managers, clients, and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide analytical support.
- Assist with trade ally management and document role to ensure continuity of work.
- Manage small initiatives to completion and continuously improve backend tools and client deliverables.
- Support the creation of program documentation, including guidelines and manuals.
- Contribute to developing best practices and visual management tools for program analysis.
- Support forecasting and financial planning with program data insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytical goals and metrics for success.
- Perform other tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Analytics, or an analytical discipline.
- Minimum five years of experience compiling and analyzing data, producing data-intensive reports, and supporting energy efficiency programs.
- High attention to detail and reporting precision.
- Proven experience with data analysis tools: Power BI (including programming), Oracle, SQL, Excel (advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, Data Management Tools), and MS Dynamics CRM.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams; experience with MS Power Automate is a plus.
- Familiarity with accounts payable and accounting concepts (invoicing, accruals, forecasting, etc.).
- Experience in large utility-client bureaucracies.
- Demonstrated analytical abilities to develop and implement resolutions for business challenges.
- Ability to work well under pressure in time-critical situations and be productive and self-motivated during slow periods.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including customer service, phone, organizational, grammar, and spelling skills (occasional client-facing engagement)
- Must be flexible, able to prioritize work assignments, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)
- 3-5 years of energy efficiency experience.
- Familiarity with energy savings analysis and modeling tools.
- Experience with data reconciliation applications (e.g., month-end accounting reconciliations, accruals, inventory reconciliations).
- Prior participation in complex database management system projects.
- Experience with JIRA or similar IT project tracking programs.
- Prior project experience in data mining and/or analytics initiatives.
- Proactive approach to analytical tool and model development.
- Knowledge of utility and/or energy efficiency programs.
- Experience working with energy efficient products with a utility, government, non-profit, or public agency.
