What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Technician position at The JPI Group?
This job supports the Georgia IRA Home Rebate Program, helping homeowners make their homes more energy efficient. You’ll visit homes, perform energy audits, and check how well heating, cooling, and ventilation systems work. You’ll also record data, make improvement recommendations, and ensure everything meets safety and program standards. What You’ll Do:Inspect homes: Visit about two homes a day to check energy use and efficiency.Test systems: Use tools to measure air leaks, duct performance, ventilation, and combustion safety.Collect info: Take photos, notes, and measurements for energy-saving upgrades.Enter data: Upload reports and energy models into company or state systems.Work with homeowners: Explain findings, stay professional, and keep information private.Verify work: Check homes before and after upgrades to make sure work meets requirements.Follow safety rules: Use proper safety gear and maintain equipment and company vehicles.Teamwork: Coordinate with other energy professionals and contractors to finish projects properly. Who They’re Looking For:Ideally has BPI Building Analyst or similar certification (or willing to get one).At least 2 years of experience in HVAC, energy efficiency, or home weatherization.Comfortable using software like SnuggPro or MeasureQuick.
