Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for supervising production employees in a manufacturing setting, ensuring the highest quality products at the lowest possible costs. The goal is to meet company performance standards and customer specifications while adhering to delivery requirements and company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prioritize work assignments, schedule tasks, delegate duties, and directly supervise employees to ensure efficient production processes.
- Plan production schedules to meet daily goals.
- Train new and existing employees on processes and methods required to achieve company standards for quality, quantity, safety, and ISO9001.
- Participate in the hiring process, engage with employees, conduct performance reviews, address concerns, and provide input on policy adherence.
- Improve plant operating costs by optimizing productivity, reducing scrap, and minimizing rework.
- Ensure safe equipment use, develop recommendations for improving downtime and overall operating costs.
- Evaluate processes and methods, recommend improvements to production techniques, equipment, and personnel utilization.
- Act as a technical resource to resolve inquiries and problems, assist workers in solving issues, and ensure compliance with safety practices and regulations.
- Complete production paperwork, records, and documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and three to five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills with customers, employees, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Supervisory responsibilities include training, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to prepare timesheets and job-related paperwork.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules when needed.
Physical Requirements:
The employee will be regularly required to use hands to handle objects, occasionally sit and talk, frequently hear, walk, stand, and reach with hands and arms. Lifting up to 25 pounds is frequent, while lifting up to 50 pounds is occasional. Close vision and ability to adjust focus are necessary. Continuous exposure to manufacturing noise is expected.
