IT@JH Networking, Telecom, & Data Center is seeking an Associate Network Technician. With guidance and direction, diagnose and troubleshoot basic network, device, and data communications problems, install and replace network or other hardware, software and cabling, diagnose basic problems, perform and verify basic switch configuration tasks. May participate and contribute in technical discussions that involve basic infrastructure enhancements. Under guidance, interface with customers to understand their needs and articulate those needs to others. This position is also responsible for the installation, maintenance, ongoing technical support and administration of the organizations network service provision suite to include Data Center networking, workstation networking, wireless networking, videoconference network, audio visual and satellite TV systems.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist IT professionals who are responsible for the network of the Johns Hopkins Medicine and Johns Hopkins University.
- Provide customer support for a variety of network related issues,
- Learn Network monitoring
- Data Center equipment installations/de-installations
- Network Fleet replacement
- Learn how conduct IT equipment service provision surveys
- Learn how to provision network services using the conducted surveys
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless connections, install/upgrade network switches and wireless access points
- 100% onsite Potential location, Mount Washington Campus Monday through Friday, day shift
- High School Diploma/GED or current high school student.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- Completion of sophomore year of high school and some high school course work in IT, or IT Networking.
- Basic Knowledge of IP/MAC Addresses, DHCP.
- Computer experience.
- Technical hand-on training on devices, network and/or wireless technologies.
