Door Staff

The Jefferson Hotel is seeking a polished and personable Seasonal Door Staff member to join our Guest Services team. As one of the first points of contact for our guests, Door Staff plays an important role in creating a welcoming, safe, and seamless arrival and departure experience. The ideal candidate is courteous, attentive, and service-driven, with a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.

Key Requirements

• Availability: Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, with scheduling flexibility between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
• Licensing: Must hold a valid Virginia driver's license and provide a driving record with 0 points.
• Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or another guest-facing role is preferred.
• Professionalism: Must be clean-cut, well-groomed, and maintain a polished appearance appropriate for a luxury hotel environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and assist with luggage as needed, including working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Warmly greet and welcome guests arriving at and departing from the hotel.
• Open doors, offer assistance, and provide directions or information as needed.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide timely, courteous, and proactive assistance.
• Assist with luggage or coordinate with Bell Staff and Valet to ensure seamless service.

Arrival & Departure Coordination

• Communicate effectively with Front Desk, Bell Staff, and Valet to coordinate guest arrivals and departures.
• Monitor activity at the hotel entrance and assist with guest flow during busy periods.
• Maintain an organized and welcoming entrance area.

Safety & Security

• Remain alert to activity around the hotel entrance and help maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Report suspicious behavior, safety concerns, or potential hazards to the appropriate team members.
• Follow all hotel safety, security, and service standards.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
