Dock Supervisor

Position Summary: 3rd Shift 

The Receiving Supervisor reports directly to the Plant Manager. He/she is responsible for managing, ensuring inventory accuracy of all direct materials (ingredients & packaging), and finished goods including the guiding and performing of cycle counts and annual physical inventories; and assisting with and/or performing daily data entry transactions. Report inventory information to senior leadership each period end, continuously working on ways to improve the information and method of this communication.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Receiving and unloading of incoming direct material deliveries per food safety procedures outlined in Food Safety Manual.
• Storage and staging of direct materials to meet scheduled production, utilizing “First Expired, First Out” inventory rotation.
• Preparing and maintaining receiving and traceability paperwork on all incoming deliveries per company policies outlined in Food Safety Manual.
• Prepare and apply pallet labels to all direct materials as needed to assure proper rotation.
• Taking temperature readings at time of receiving of “Temperature Controlled Items” as needed.
• Maintaining storage locations in a clean and sanitary manner as outlined in Food Safety Manual.
• “Picking” and “Prepping” direct materials for Production departments to meet scheduled production based on information provided by the Purchasing Manager.
• Thawing and delivering direct materials as needed for production departments.
• Maintain storage locations throughout plant and warehouse as needed.
• Monthly inspections of direct materials that are on hand over 30 days.
• Assist Purchasing Manager in maintaining inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies to meet production schedules, while minimizing aggregate inventory dollars and maximizing inventory turns.
• Conduct daily, weekly and/or monthly raw material and packaging physical inventory counts as directed by Purchasing Manager.
• Drive future implementations of lot traceability, bin location stocking, bar coding and other improvements.
• Assist in creating and document procedures for this position, and those that report to it.
• The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor’s responsibilities in their absence.
• The incumbent understands and complies with all food safety policies, procedures and programs as stated in the Company’s Food Safety Manual.
• Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work scheduled nights and weekends to do physical inventories.
• Education, Experience & Certification - bachelor’s degree in Shipping and Receiving or related field preferred. 3-5 years’ experience

• Computer skills: MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP Systems
• Minimum Education Required: bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
