A day in the life…
Wondering what a day in the life of a Clinic Care Tech at The Iowa Clinic might look like in our Johnston Family Medicine?
- Arrive at work in the morning – no night shifts here!
- Work directly under the guidance of a seasoned Registered Nurse and Dr. Olson.
- Accompany physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam. Document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient.
- List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
- Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
- Document procedures performed by physician as well as other needed information.
- Perform other office tasks as assigned.
- Leave in the evening – hooray for working standard clinic hours!

- Ability to assist physicians in professional manner
- 6 months as a Medical Scribe
- Medical office experience experience
- Medical Terminology
Certifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
