What are the responsibilities and job description for the SVP or VP Consumer Lending position at The HT Group?
We have partnered with our financial client seeking an experienced and strategic SVP or VP of Consumer Lending to lead and grow their Consumer Lending function. This role is ideal for a strong Consumer Lender with management experience, preferably coming from a Regional Bank environment. You’ll oversee a team of 3 and contribute directly to loan production across multiple product lines, including auto, home equity, HELOC and signature loans. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape the future of Consumer Lending in a dynamic environment.
- Serve as a senior leader overseeing individual and team production metrics within the consumer lending function
- Report directly to the Chief Lending Officer with close cross-functional collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer
- Help build and refine efficient lending processes, including in-branch digital application workflows (e.g., iPad or banker-assisted applications)
- Partner with operations to ensure seamless integration of lending procedures across all branches
- Lead process and systems improvements that eliminate inefficiencies and enhance the customer experience across all delivery channels
- Lead and develop a team of 3–5 junior consumer lenders, instilling a strong sales culture and team performance mindset
- Serve as an individual contributor in loan origination and portfolio growth
- Define and implement efficient end-to-end consumer lending processes (application through payoff) across multiple products, including auto, home, and personal loans
- Drive strategic leadership in both operational execution and cultural development within the lending function
- Evaluate and enhance existing consumer loan products, policies, and procedures for scalability and effectiveness
- Serve as a key contributor to shaping lending strategy; ideal candidate brings experience from a mid-sized regional bank
