What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staffing Recruiter position at The HR Chicks?
Recruiter
Our client is a growing staffing firm that believes the best placements come from recruiters who genuinely care about the people on both sides of the process. We are not looking for someone who just fills orders. We are looking for someone who builds relationships, takes pride in making the right match, and thrives in an environment that is fast, people-driven, and never the same day twice.
If you are someone who lights up when you help a person land a job that changes their situation, or when a client calls to say their new hire is exactly what they needed, this is the role for you. Experience in staffing is a plus but it is not required. We will train the right person. What we cannot train is hustle, heart, and a genuine interest in people.

THE ROLE IN PLAIN TERMS
You will be the connection point between people looking for work and clients who need reliable, skilled workers in light industrial environments. Your day will include sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, making placements, and staying close to both your associates and your clients to make sure the match holds. You will work alongside a Branch Manager and a small team where your contributions are visible, your wins are celebrated, and your growth is real.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Recruiting and Candidate Management
- Source, screen, and interview candidates for light industrial positions across your assigned client accounts using job boards, social media, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline so you are never starting from zero when a client order comes in.
- Match candidates to roles based on skills, schedule fit, culture, and long-term potential, not just availability.
- Conduct follow-up with placed associates to ensure job satisfaction and address concerns before they become turnover.
- Recruit, coach, and counsel temporary associates to support their performance and help them succeed in their placements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues between associates and clients with urgency, care, and professionalism.
Client Service and Relationship Management
- Serve as a responsive and reliable point of contact for your assigned clients. They should feel like they can call you and get an answer.
- Conduct regular service calls and check-ins to ensure client satisfaction and stay ahead of upcoming staffing needs.
- Assist in the retention of current client relationships through consistent follow-through and quality placements.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities to expand the relationship within existing accounts and assist with new client outreach as the branch grows.
Operations and Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system for all candidates and placements.
- Complete required documentation in a timely and organized manner to support branch compliance and reporting.
- Contribute to branch goals around billable hours, fill rates, and associate retention metrics.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A genuine interest in people. You listen well, communicate clearly, and know how to build trust quickly.
- Prior experience in staffing recruiting is a plus, particularly in light industrial or manufacturing environments. We will also train candidates who are new to recruiting but bring the right instincts and work ethic.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where priorities shift and you stay calm anyway.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. You can talk to a plant floor supervisor and a warehouse associate with equal ease.
- Self-motivation and follow-through. You do not need to be managed on the basics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to visit client sites as needed.
- A high school diploma or equivalent. A degree is not required and will not substitute for the right attitude and work ethic.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE HERE
- Your clients trust you to fill their orders accurately and quickly.
- Your associates feel supported and stay in their placements longer because of the relationship you built with them.
- You are consistently hitting your fill rate and billable hours targets.
- You are growing your knowledge of the light industrial market and the clients you serve.
- The Branch Manager hears good things about you from both sides of every placement.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Base salary of $50,000 to $55,000 commensurate with experience, plus commission and bonus opportunity.
- A role with real visibility. In a small branch, your work matters and people notice it.
- Training and development for candidates new to recruiting. We invest in people who invest in the work.
- A team culture built on accountability, support, and celebrating the wins together.
- A clear path forward. Strong recruiters here have grown into senior roles, account management, and branch leadership.
Why Our Client?
