Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, creativity, and consistency, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards.
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols.
- Manage food production processes, including inventory control, food handling, and ensuring proper storage procedures.
- Support menu planning efforts by contributing ideas for seasonal dishes and special offerings aligned with restaurant standards.
- Oversee shift management duties such as coordinating staff schedules, delegating tasks, and maintaining smooth kitchen operations during busy hours.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen area.
- Collaborate with the dietary department when preparing specialized or allergy-sensitive meals for guests with specific dietary needs.
- Assist with catering events and banquet preparations, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality food service.
- Monitor inventory levels regularly to minimize waste and optimize food costs while maintaining quality.
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent customer service skills during food service and serving guests when needed.
Experience
- Proven culinary experience in a fast-paced restaurant or fine dining setting, with a strong foundation in food preparation and kitchen management.
- Supervising experience in a culinary environment, demonstrating leadership in team management and shift oversight.
- Extensive banquet experience, including catering for large events or special functions.
- Familiarity with dietary requirements and food safety standards across various cuisines.
- Experience in inventory management, cost control, and menu planning within the food industry.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, kitchen equipment operation, and hospitality best practices.
- Prior restaurant management or food service management experience is highly desirable.
