Project Finance Legal Counsel (Structured Finance)

Our client, an International Bank located in NYC, is seeking a Legal Counsel candidate with a wide range of knowledge of traditional infrastructure and transportation projects such as, Renewable Energy, Energy Distribution, Data-Centers and LNG export.

Responsibilities:

• Support the global transaction teams and draft, review and negotiate complex secured and unsecured lending documentation, identifying appropriate legal, business and credit points for the deal team.
• Manage outside counsel and provide solution oriented legal advice to transaction teams.
• Keep up-to-date on regulatory changes and proposed rule makings applicable to the project and infrastructure financing space
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of relevant U.S. banking and financial services business and in particular how those business lines are impacted by the relevant regulatory environment.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Legal and support business, compliance and legal aspects of the Branch and operations as needed, including corporate lending, structure finance, HR matters, and vendor management processes.
• Participate in knowledge sharing and global team meetings for the project and infrastructure legal teams

Required skills

• Strong understanding of relevant legal and commercial issues underlying commercial lending and specifically secured transactions in the infrastructure and project finance space, as well as the ability to analyze and understand complex issues and transaction structures
• Excellent drafting skills and knowledge of current market standards/practices
• Solid Communication and Analytical skills
• Team player and able to work in a small team environment
• Willingness to learn, and independently curious and motivated
• Able to marshal a network of both internal and external resources
• NY Qualified Attorney with minimum of 4 years of experience at a law firm or international financial institution
