The Homestead School is a Montessori School with campuses located in Glen Spey and Hurleyville, NY, offering children ages 3 years to 18 years (Pre-K through 12th grade) a unique, life-enriching, humanitarian, and outdoor-oriented educational experience. This position is located on the Glen Spey campus which educates students in grades PreK through 6.

- Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries, and direct calls efficiently using proper phone etiquette
- Handle incoming correspondence, emails, and messages promptly and accurately
- Maintain organized filing systems—both physical and digital—including data entry, document proofreading, and record keeping
- Schedule appointments, coordinate calendar management, and assist with meeting arrangements
- Act as the contact person for school operations such as transportation from partner districts and copy machine repairs
- Support HR tasks such as compiling staff paperwork, attendance calendar tracking, and scheduling substitute teachers
- Support bookkeeping tasks such as invoicing, expense tracking, and basic QuickBooks data entry
- Assist with office management duties including supply inventory, equipment maintenance, and general organization
- Provide customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a courteous manner
- Use Google Workspace tools to prepare documents, reports, and presentations
- Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, proofreading documents, and managing mail distribution
- Support personal assistant tasks when needed—such as travel arrangements or special project coordination
- Maintain a professional appearance of the reception area to ensure a welcoming environment
- Previous experience working with children
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to manage phone etiquette gracefully and resolve inquiries efficiently
- Previous office experience or administrative support roles preferred
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Google Workspace applications
- Familiarity with office management software like QuickBooks is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail in proofreading and data entry tasks
- Demonstrated ability to handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism and patience
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse client needs effectively
- Experience in clerical work such as filing, calendar management, typing accurately at a fast pace, and supporting bookkeeping activities like bookkeeping or data entry
