Compensation
$30.00/hour
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing materials and detailed lists for digitization efforts
- Categorize and sort archival materials, including film canisters, artifacts, and documents
- Identify and catalog unique items to streamline the digitization process
- Contribute to catalog management by updating records and removing obsolete entries
- Package fragile and significant items carefully for storage or shipment
- Support the packing of journals, artifacts, awards, and gifts for storage and shipping
- Collaborate to organize materials for donation or transfer, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or enrollment in an MLS program with relevant experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience working in libraries or archives
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a hybrid work environment
- Familiarity with micrographics, digital reformatting, and preservation techniques
- Competence with SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to commute to Quincy, MA, and Avon, MA locations as required
