Job Summary
As our Electrical Technician, you’ll contribute to the maintenance of electrical systems aboard a variety of boats. The ideal candidate will be skilled in marine electrical systems, interpreting schematics, and troubleshooting onboard electronics. Responsibilities
- Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic equipment to test and repair electrical systems. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair navigation, communication, and sonar systems, including GPS, radar, VHF radios, and depth sounders.
- Product Lines: Must be comfortable working with Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno, and other types of electronic-related products.
- Testing: Test systems using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and other equipment. Perform preventive maintenance to minimize system failures and ensure vessel reliability. Maintain a detailed record of services.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to manufacturing safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
- Other: All duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience: One (1) year of experience in marine electrical systems or related fields.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
- Certifications: Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Experience working with marine electrical systems, specifically Garmin technology.
- Strong understanding of DC and AC wiring, diagnostic software, and troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to work from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of power and hand tools.
