Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing care tailored to infants and toddlers’ individual needs, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
- Implement age-appropriate activities that support physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development based on childhood development principles.
- Follow classroom management strategies to maintain a positive, organized learning space that encourages exploration and independence.
- Adhere to mandated reporting laws and health & safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR when certified.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and execute lesson plans focused on early childhood education and child development instruction.
- Support behavior management techniques that promote positive interactions and emotional regulation among children.
- Maintain detailed documentation of daily activities, developmental milestones, and any incidents in compliance with licensing standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about their child's progress and daily experiences.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with infants and toddlers in a daycare or preschool setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development theories, early childhood education practices, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a valuable asset.
- Certification in first aid, pediatric first aid, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is required; ongoing training in health & safety standards is encouraged.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child abuse and neglect is essential.
- Previous nannying or babysitting experience working with young children can be beneficial but must be complemented by formal classroom or daycare experience.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a caring, energetic approach that fosters trust and security among children.
